The following codes will go into effect in the Town of Bennett on July 1, 2026:
- 2024 International Building Code
- 2024 International Residential Code
- 2024 International Existing Building Code
- 2024 International Mechanical Code
- 2024 International Energy Conservation Code
- 2024 International Plumbing Code
- 2024 International Fire Code
- 2024 International Fuel Gas Code
- 2024 International Swimming Pool and Spa Code
- Colorado Model Electric and Solar Ready Code
- 2025 Colorado Wildfire Resiliency Code
The Town will not issue any permits on the new code cycle before the codes go into effect on July 1, 2026.
- Master plans and projects that anticipate being issued after July 1, 2026 should work directly with the building department to confirm if they are submitting under the 2018 or 2024 code cycle. Projects that submit under the 2018 code cycle but are not issued before July 1, 2026, will be required to revise their plans to the 2024 code cycle prior to being issued.
- All permits issued on the 2018 code cycle before July 1, 2026 may finish their permit on that approved code cycle.
- Permits originally issued prior to July 1, 2026, but that expire after July 1, 2026 will be required to meet 2024 code requirements when renewing the permit or applying for a new permit after July 1, 2026.
- All permits issued on or after July 1, 2026 must meet the 2024 I-code requirements and all other applicable codes listed above.
- Exception: Residential developments that (1) are currently under construction and (2) have master plans approved on the 2018 code cycle prior to July 1, 2026, will be given until July 1, 2028 to finish out their current phase of development using the 2018 code cycle master plans. The only developments currently eligible for this exception are:
- Bennett Avenue Townhomes
- Bennett Crossing Filing 5 Phases 1A and 1B
- Bennett Ranch Filing 1
- Bennett Ranch Filing 2
- Horizon Village
- Muegge Farms Filing 4 Phases 4A and 4B
- Muegge Farms Filing 5
- Muegge Farms Filing 7 Phase 1
